The Sunny Senior Ministry is design to bring fellowship and joy to the seniors (age 60 and older) within RVCC’s family. There are regular gatherings and special events.
Throughout the year there is a luncheon here at RVCC in the Fellowship Hall on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, (taking a break only for the summer months). Everyone brings a side dish or a salad and the many course and dessert are provided. This is a time of good food and great fellowship. There are inspirational and informative speakers, as well as concerts from the children at Bethany Christian School. Every month is something different.
Four programs are provided to meet their spiritual, social and emotional needs.
1. The second Tuesday of each month at 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM, in the RVCC Fellowship Hall a luncheon is served for our Sunny Seniors. Decorations and speakers/programs center around the seasonal themes for the month.
2. Twice a month a Men’s Breakfast meets at the Horizon II Diner to provide fellowship and support for senior men who need encouragement and social/spiritual companionship.
3. Every Sunday afternoon at 4:00–5:30 PM a Senior Community Group, lead by Pastor Art in the RVCC Parlor, gathers to meet the spiritual/social needs of our seniors.
4. A monthly social activity is also scheduled for a time of fun and fellowship.
