Lay Shepherds
-
-
What is the purpose of the Lay Shepherds?
-
Lay Shepherds exist to love God, by
loving God's people. Jesus tells us
that if we love Him, we will feed and tend His sheep. (John 21:15-27)
Lay Shepherds are people like you are are trained and equipped to
nurture and care for the body of Christ.
-
How does this happen?
Lay Shepherds minister wherever
God's people live, work and worship. We minister in
neighborhoods, at church, and even
at the grocery store or mall. Each
Lay Shepherd cares for seven to ten
family units through regular prayer,
phone calls, visits, cards and letters,
according to the needs of each
individual or family.
-
Lay Shepherds are
-
Men and women of Rio Vista
Community Church gifted by
the Holy Spirit to offer
shepherding care to others.
-
Representatives of Jesus, caring
for one another in times of
weakness and in times of
strength.
-
People who are trained and
equipped to be encouragers and
listeners.
