Tom Hendrikse
Tom has been married to his wife Beth since 1992 and they have two girls, Morgan and Haley, and a boy, T.J. When Tom is not studying (which is not as often as his wife would like), he enjoys spending time with family and friends, except during football season, when he likes watching college football and being in close proximity to those same family and friends!! (Can you tell who is writing this for Tom??)…
Tom was born in Chicago, Illinois and his family moved to Miami when he was seven. Tom's family attended Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami. Tom's grandmother likes to tell the story of when little 5 year old Tom would promise her that he was going to become a minister when he grew up. Alas, after graduating from Westminster Christian School in Miami in 1984, Tom went to Florida State University where becoming a minister faded into the background. He majored in Economics and from there went to Mercer Law School. After graduation from law school, Tom and Beth got married and spent two fun (but cold) years in Chicago, before coming home to family in Boynton Beach in 1994.
In Boynton, Tom began to feel God's call to ministry. This is when he realized that there would be no peace until he followed where God led, and so he began attending seminary. After attending and occasionally preaching at Rio Vista Community Church for 4 years, the leadership of the church asked Tom to come on board as Senior Pastor. God uses that legal training today as Tom is committed to presenting his case for Christ weekly. Tom's children all attend Bethany Christian School.
